Fingerprints of Faith

The picture in the header was taken after a prayer event dedicating the 86 Club. The prayer event itself was unlike any prayer event I have been to before. There were people blowing shofars, laying hands everywhere on the building, and covering the place with prayer and anointing oil. Most of the people who came were specifically invited because they are prayer warriors. (I’m usually not a fan of that term, but after the event I cam to get over it.)

It was incredible to watch people canvas our building praying for a ministry and people they barely knew. Their prayers were so specific and direct that you would have thought we had been life long friends with them. As I was praying I could help but to be drawn to the places where I could see the anointing oil glistening. You could see where people had draw a cross or make just a simple line. But the places where you could see the traces of their hand really got to me.

We believe that we aren’t just some entertainment venue. We aren’t some random collection of people who like music and God. We are hand chosen by God for His purpose of reaching people with love and hope. We believe that extending our hands and lives to people will connect them with each other and with God.

So when I saw the hand print in the middle of the main floor, I was literally moved to tears.

We are God’s hands. We will reach others. And we will help others see God’s fingerprints in their own lives.

Every time I look at that picture, I am reminding of the song Fingerprints of God by Steven Curtis Chapman. I have put the lyrics below in case you don’t know them.

Today I challenge you to be and find the fingerprints of God.

Steven Curtis Chapman – Fingerprints of God

I can see the tears filling Your eyes
And I know where they’re coming from
They’re coming from a heart that’s broken in two
By what you don’t see
The person in the mirror
Doesn’t look like the magazine
Oh, but when I look at you it’s clear to me that…

I can see the fingerprints of God
When I look at you
I can see the fingerprints of God
And I know it’s true
You’re a masterpiece
That all creation quietly applauds
And you’re covered with the fingerprints of God

Never has there been and never again
Will there be another you
Fashioned by God’s hand
And perfectly planned
To be just who you are
And what He’s been creating
Since the first beat of your heart
Is a living breathing priceless work of art and…

Just look at you
You’re a wonder in the making
Oh, and God’s not through, no
In fact, He’s just getting started and…
